Second CAS-ual Friday image

I didn't know I couldn't post two images with the same URL, so here is the one I didn't get to post for the CAS-ual Fridays "stuck on you" challenge!

Moxie Fab World - Horizontal Challenge

Moxie Fab World was celebrating Papercrafts Magazine's special edition "Card Ideas for Papercrafters" by holding a challenge from each category. Here is my card that I created for the Horizontal Sketch challenge. I used Basic Grey paper from the Lime Rickey set. The candies, tiny hearts and sentiment are from the Sugar Rush set by Paper Smooches. The small felt heart is a Valentine embellishment I got from Hobby Lobby last year.  Below is also the image of the sketch.

Another CAS-ual Fridays entry

.....or more like two more! Lol : D Here are two more cards I made for the challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays - "stuck on you" ....stickers essentially (CFC17). The first one I used "A Touch of Jolee's" sticker for the flower and the sentiment is a faith-based vellum sticker by Sticko. The second card, the trees and clouds are both by sticko and the sentiment was a vellum quote that I ran through the Xyron to make into a sticker. I had fun with this challenge, even though alot of times I have a hard time figuring out how to make stickers look nice and not like I just stuck them on there and called it a day! Thanks for checking them out!

Moxie Fab World -Vertical Challenge

This last week was full of challenges over at Moxie Fab World for Papercrafts Magazine's special edition "Card Ideas for Papercrafters." It is full of great sketches to start off any papercrafting project. When I saw the challenge, the first thing I thought of was teeth! Lol, so I though a monster would be cute. Below are the images of the sketch and the card I created from it. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge* CFC #16

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays was to create a "clear and simple" project using an embossing technique. I just recently got the Surf and Turf stamp set from Paper Smooches in the mail and was itching to use it some more! I decided to create a simple thank you card using dry embossing. I started off with a pale yellow card base and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder with a bubble look to it on some light blue pearl paper. I then stamped the whale from Surf and Turf and colored him with Triart markers, first layer was C2 Cool Gray No.2 and second layer was BG-11 Pale Blue. I also stamped the air bubbles from the same set and colored them with B6 Andes Blue. The sentiment "huge thanks" is from the same set and is stamped in Royal Blue ink by Stampabilites and then I cut it out with "bubbly" decorative scissors. I then added a simple piece of white emboidery thread in a knot.

Happy Frame!

Here is a frame I made recently for a baby shower. I bought the blank wooden frame at Hobbly Lobby. I painted the whole background with Folkart acrylic paint in Calypso Sky. I then cut out the different pieces with my create-a-critter and simply charmed Cricut carts and the letters are cut out with a Cuttlebug alphabet die set. The grass is cut out from the green page of the Lime Rickey Basic Grey set of papers. I also then outlined some of the things with white gel pen. Thanks for checking it out!

My first coloring attempt

I really wanted to use my new markers and my new Paper Smooches stamps. Soooo....this is what I made : ) My large coloring area is kinda streaky, Im not sure what I didn't do right, but hopefully I get better with time! The only stamp that isn't from the Paper Smooches Surf and Turf set is the cloud; its from the Cheer Up set by My Cute Stamps.

Paper Smooches August Sparks Challenge

This will be the first challenge I'm taking part in! It was a little challenging and nice at the same time for me to have something to go by instead of just going with whatever comes to mind. So the first image is the photo posted on the Paper Smooches blog as the challenge. The third image is the card I created from that photo. I made a card from fuschia colored cardstock and matted it with a patterened paper that has a woodgrain print on it. I stamped "thanks" from the Sentiment Sampler set with light blue acrylic paint onto white cardstock and added a few pearls. I had some flocked paper laying around with the flower design, so I decided to fussy cut a flower with leaves piece and glue that as an embellishment and added a gem to the center, then added a small strip of blue shimmery ribbon in the center. Thanks a lot for checking it out!

Yay!

I got my Triart markers in and my stamp sets from Paper Smooches! I'm so excited to try out coloring. It will probably take some practice, but I'm looking forward to learning! If anyone has any tips for me, they'd be greatly appreciated! I also bought my copy of Card Ideas for Papercrafters by Papercrafts Magazine. I love that magazine! So much great inspiration. Well, until I do a few projects, have fun!

Anxiously awaiting

I am anxiously awaiting some Triart markers and stamps that I've ordered! Triart markers are alcohol ink markers, similar to Copics. I couldn't afford Copics right now, so I'm going to try out the Triarts. I'm really excited to try coloring with my card making. I loved coloring as a child, so I'm sure I will love this! I also ordered three stamp sets from Paper Smooches. I totally love her stamps! Two have come in and I'm waiting on the third. As soon as I get all three stamp sets and my markers, I will create something and post here. I really love the stamps Paper Smooches offers, they are super cute. If you like really cutesy stuff, you should check it out! I will be posting tonight on Splitcoast stampers forums about my new blog, so maybe I can get some visitors and input on my creations! Here is a link to Paper Smooches stamps!

Well here I am!

Well, this is my first blog post! I've always wanted to try out my own blog, so I decided to go ahead and do it! I will mostly be covering papercrafting and occasionally jewelry making, and once in awhile something different. I currently don't have a desktop at home, so I will be posting from my phone....so we'll see how it goes! Lately, I haven't had much motivation to make cards so hopefully this will help get me goin! I did make a couple cards recently for a couple of the kids at the preschool I work at that were leaving. For both cards, I did use some more unknown brands of items that I have in my stock of papercrafting items. The one with the puppy I used My Cute Stamps for the clouds and the sun and I also used Basic Grey paper for the blue background and the yellow of the sun. For the one with the alligator, I used my create-a-critter cricut cart and some patterned paper I bought at wal mart.

Well, til next time, happy crafting!
